Job summary

Sayres is seeking an experienced Naval Architect (Hull, Hydrodynamics, Weights, Stability) with an active SECRET clearance for on-site work in Mobile, AL. Some travel to Washington, DC will be required to support the customer.

You will provide SME design support for hull systems and ship design management, and supervise junior engineers. Responsibilities include feasibility studies, concept design support, design reviews, and resolving technical issues related to Navy ships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering or Ocean Engineering with 7+ years of ship design experience.
• Experience with intact and damage stability and trim sensitivity calculations.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, ShipConstructor, Rhino3D, GHS, CargoMAX, and AdobePro.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer relation skills; strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME design support for hull, hydrodynamics, weights, and stability.
• Review industry deliverables and ensure compliance with government specs.
• Develop corrective design comments and revisions for Navy ships.
• Provide HM&E assessments and supervise junior SDM engineers.
