Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Navigation Warfare Engineer to join the Navwar team in Albuquerque, NM. You will work on estimation, software engineering, GNSS, and R&D for national security missions.

Responsibilities include hardware prototype navigation systems, sensor fusion, and advancing concepts to flight tests. The role requires experience with navigation sensors, Kalman filtering, and programming in Python, C++, and Matlab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent education/experience.
• 1+ years of experience with modern navigation sensors and hardware.
• Experience with Kalman filtering, sensor fusion, or related navigation tech.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, test, and analyze navigation prototype systems (GNSS, IMUs, PNT).
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers to mature concepts to flight tests.
• Transition navigation technologies from modeling to hardware testing and field trials.
• Design experiments, analyze data, and draw engineering conclusions.
