Job summary

Wyoming State Geological Survey seeks a Natural Resources Program Principal to develop 3D geological mapping and modeling of the state's subsurface environment, addressing multiuse challenges including carbon sequestration, groundwater, and energy development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or closely related field; master's preferred.
  • Experience in 3D geological mapping/modeling, data analysis, and geologic software.
  • 1-2 years of progressive work experience in natural resources or related field.
  • Familiarity with Wyoming geology and natural resources.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience with oil and gas forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 3D geological mapping and modeling of Wyoming's subsurface.
  • Conduct fieldwork, analyze data, and apply geologic software.
  • Lead project management efforts to support sustainable resource use and forecasting.
