Job summary

St. Petersburg, FL area is seeking a Natural Gas Meter Mechanic for field installation, maintenance, and inspections of gas equipment. The role includes compliance with safety standards and reporting results via mobile apps.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $23–27 with experience, plus a company vehicle. Requires 2–5+ years in construction or mechanical work and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong oral and written communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative to complete tasks.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet project deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Install or replace natural gas meters, regulators, meters fits and related equipment.
• Perform maintenance and investigations on natural gas equipment.
• Conduct external surface inspections for corrosion indicators.
• Conduct leak surveys using a CGI (Combustible Gas Indicator).
• Perform regulator vent inspections.
• Turn off and lock meters when necessary.
• Paint natural gas piping when required.
• Demonstrate a service culture prioritizing customer experience and de-escalate conflicts.
