Job description

Job Title: National Vice President Sales - Diabetes

The National Vice President Sales - Diabetes (NVP) will develop and implement a dynamic sales strategy focused on acquiring new patients requiring diabetes supplies in the home. The NVP will lead the sales organization, inspiring and directing a high-performing team to meet patient acquisition targets and expand market presence within the diabetes sector. This role requires a strong understanding of the diabetes patient journey, successful experience in building and leading sales teams, and the ability to forge strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, manufacturers, and referral networks. Success will be measured by the ability to win and retain referral sources, deliver patient growth, and improve profit margins within regions. Knowledge of the market, products, services, and competitive landscape is essential.

This is a remote position, working from home, with 50% travel required. The role reports to the SVP/GM.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of approximately 90 employees, including Region Managers, Territory Business Managers, and Business/Channel Development staff.
  2. Analyze market opportunities and develop plans to maximize market penetration, collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver high-value solutions to customers.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with key customers, aligning products and services with their performance objectives. Represent the company at industry events and conferences.
  4. Provide vision, strategy, and motivation to the sales team. Coach and develop sales leaders to achieve results. Manage hiring and performance within the region, inspiring and motivating teams.
  5. Collaborate with Strategic Accounts, Sales teams, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other internal functions on current and new opportunities.
  6. Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Cardinal Health, distribution, and the diabetes industry, including competitors, technology, trends, and customer needs.
  7. Create a high-performance culture through performance management and talent development, fostering teamwork, accountability, and innovation.
  8. Understand customer challenges and objectives, providing strategic advice based on financial and industry insights.
  9. Navigate payer and reimbursement dynamics to improve provider and patient awareness of policies and coverage.
  10. Foster strategic partnerships at multiple organizational levels and address concerns proactively.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  2. 10+ years of healthcare sales experience, preferably in distribution and with referral sources.
  3. Knowledge of the diabetes market is strongly preferred.
  4. Understanding of healthcare provider decision-making processes.
  5. Proven ability to exceed sales targets and grow market share.
  6. Demonstrated leadership skills, including managing diverse teams in a changing environment.
  7. Excellent planning, forecasting, financial, and negotiation skills.
  8. Matrix management experience and ability to work cross-functionally.
  9. Strong presentation and communication skills with executive presence.
  10. Ability to travel domestically 50%, with a dedicated home office environment and high-speed internet.
Additional Information

Anticipated salary range: $163,000 - $263,235. Bonus eligible. Benefits include health coverage, paid time off, HSA, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, disability coverage, work-life resources, parental leave, and health programs. Application deadline: 06/04/2025.
