Job summary

Protection Strategies, Inc. (PSI) is seeking a HHS Adjudicator in Washington, DC. You will review background investigations to assess character and suitability for access to classified information, applying guidelines and sound judgment for fair determinations.

You will manage and analyze information, prepare adjudicative summaries, handle government signature requests, and maintain caseloads within timelines while working with cross-functional teams to support security processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in personnel security.
• Five years of adjudicating suitability and security background investigations.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications and knowledge of processing e-QIP.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Screen, review, and evaluate background investigations for suitability and clearance.
• Identify derogatory/mitigating information per 5 CFR 731 and EO 12968.
• Request supporting documentation from applicants as needed.
• Prepare analytical summaries with recommended actions and rationale.
• Coordinate government signatures for additional information and LOAs.
• Manage caseload with government timelines and follow-up.
• Review appeals and reconsideration requests and summarize findings.
