Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to support a national security mission program. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor, guiding architecture decisions and evaluation frameworks as Claude powers customer capabilities.

This role requires on-site work in secure environments and close collaboration with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams. You will lead hands-on workshops, develop pilots and evaluation suites, and translate mission needs into scalable AI solutions while

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Prior experience in US intelligence community agencies as government civilian or cleared contractor.
• 4+ years in technical roles with customer-facing responsibilities.
• Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript; production applications experience.
• Hands-on expertise in cyber ops, cryptography, ISR, or mission systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a specialist technical advisor for national security mission programs, coordinating across teams.
• Support customer development with Claude Code, Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise.
• Translate mission requirements into technical solutions with account teams.
• Lead pilots, prototypes, and evaluation suites to integrate into customer stacks.
• Develop evaluation frameworks to measure Claude performance for missions.
• Lead hands-on workshops and code reviews with customer engineers.
• Identify design patterns and share insights with Product/Engineering.
• Create technical content from deep dives to exec briefings.
• Maintain knowledge of latest LLM capabilities and AI stacks.
• Work on-site with customer teams in secure government facilities.
