Job summary

Nuveen Real Estate is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Leasing Strategy leader to drive merchandising strategy, leasing performance, and retailer relationships across a national portfolio of open-air and high street properties.

Reporting to the Head of Retail Leasing Strategy, you will work cross-functionally with transactions, asset management, and fundraising to align leasing with investment objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in a relevant field.
• 5+ years in retail real estate; 7+ years preferred.
• Experience with retailer/brand relationships is a plus.
• Willingness to travel nationally.
• Active Broker in Charge or Supervising Broker license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead merchandising and leasing strategies across open-air and high street properties.
• Drive retailer curation and leasing execution with asset management and brokers.
• Direct third-party leasing broker relationships; set objectives & pipeline expectations.
• Oversee leasing materials, pipeline reporting, and investor presentations.
• Evaluate deal terms to align with underwriting and market comps.
• Partner with transactions and fundraising to support underwriting and positioning.
• Advise on retailer demand and lease-up strategy for acquisitions or developments.
• Build relationships with national, regional, and emerging retailers; translate to market insight.
• Track retail trends and leasing metrics to guide portfolio strategy.
• Represent Nuveen and organize industry events to source retailer leads.
