Job summary

Nuveen Real Estate is seeking a strategic Leasing Strategy leader to guide merchandising and leasing across open-air suburban retail assets. This senior role acts as the platform's external face to retailers, collaborating with asset management, transactions, and capital raising to align leasing with investment objectives.

You will build retailer relationships nationwide, oversee materials and pipelines, and drive lease-up strategies for acquisitions and redevelopment.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in retail real estate, ideally with institutional ownership or advisory platforms.
Bachelor's Degree required.
Willingness to travel nationally.

Responsibilities

Lead merchandising and leasing strategies across open-air and high street properties.
Drive retailer curation and leasing execution with asset management and brokers.
Direct third-party leasing broker relationships and performance pipelines.
Oversee leasing materials, pipeline reporting, and investor presentations.
Evaluate deal terms to align with underwriting and market comps.
Partner with transactions and fundraising to support underwriting and positioning.
Advise on retailer demand and lease-up strategy for acquisitions and redevelopment.
Build relationships with national and regional retailers to gain market insight.
Track retail trends and leasing performance to guide portfolio strategy.
Represent Nuveen at industry events to source leads.
