Job summary

STRIVE is expanding its reentry programming to serve more individuals returning from incarceration. You will help review existing models, redesign curriculum, and codify best practices into a replicable playbook.

The role involves coordinating with senior leadership, developing expansion plans, and enabling new sites to implement with fidelity. Ideal candidates have a background in nonprofit program design, strong partnership skills, and a commitment to social equity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 5–7 years in nonprofit program expansion or replication.
  • Knowledge of reentry programs, criminal justice challenges, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Experience building partnerships with government agencies and community organizations.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills; ability to develop program playbooks.

POSITION SUMMARY

As part of STRIVE's continued growth, we are focused on expanding our reach in existing markets, entering new communities, and scaling programs that have demonstrated strong impact. A key area of this work is expanding our programming for individuals returning from incarceration. Building on the success of our New York City model, STRIVE aims to help more individuals successfully navigate their transition home and accelerate their path toward careers that provide a living wage and economic mobility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Design & Strategy
  • Assist with the review and analysis of STRIVE's existing reentry programming to help identify program strengths and opportunities for improvement. This may include supporting the analysis of outcome data, reviewing the program's logic model, and contributing to findings and recommendations that inform ongoing program development and replication efforts.
  • Collaborate with STRIVE colleagues, subject matter experts, consultants, and external stakeholders to redesign program components, curriculum, and service delivery based on best practices.
  • Support the codification of key learnings and contribute to the refinement of the program model for future replication, including assisting with the development of a program manual that serves as STRIVE's "playbook" for reentry programming.
Program Replication & Implementation
  • Support the development of a strategic plan for expanding our reentry services, including timelines, resource requirements, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with conducting comprehensive research and analysis of target cities and their specific reentry needs and work closely with the program team to ensure program services suit the unique needs of new cities.
  • Coordinate with senior director to develop and deliver training programs and resources to new and existing site teams, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to implement reentry services effectively.
  • Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to new site teams to promote consistent implementation and fidelity to the program model.
Reentry Stakeholder Engagement & Field Building
  • Represent STRIVE in reentry workforce and broader criminal justice coalitions to strengthen the organization’s presence and reputation and help position STRIVE as a thought leader in these areas.
  • Manage a practitioner network for those serving individuals impacted by the justice system, capturing and providing a platform for program outputs and best practice approaches that can be shared as national models.
  • Identify and establish strategic partnerships with local government agencies, community organizations, service providers, and other relevant stakeholders in the target cities.
  • Cultivate relationships, negotiate partnerships, and collaborate on the implementation of the reentry services.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree preferred and proven experience (5-7 years) in project management, program replication, or expansion in the nonprofit sector, particularly in the area of reentry services.
  • In-depth knowledge of reentry programs, criminal justice system, and the challenges faced by individuals transitioning from incarceration.
  • Experience in partnership development and the ability to navigate collaborations with government agencies, community organizations, and service providers.
  • Resourceful and energized developing new initiatives from scratch and making outsized impact in a growing national organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for social justice, equity, and a commitment to supporting individuals in their successful reentry journey.
  • Individuals with lived experience with the criminal justice system are preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering compelling presentations tailored to diverse audiences and stakeholder levels, including program staff, organizational leadership, and external partners.
  • Must have outstanding communication and writing skills; solid proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Location: The position operates within a hybrid work week, with in-person days at one of our STRIVE program locations. There is the potential for regular travel to existing STRIVE office locations and new expansion locations.
