Job summary

Garden Conservancy, headquartered in Greenwich, CT, seeks a Director of Institutional Advancement to design and scale a nationwide fundraising strategy. You will oversee major gifts, membership, capital campaigns, planned giving, and flagship events, reporting to the President & CEO.

As a strategic leader, you will manage the Development Committee, coordinate with the Board, and drive donor engagement through exclusive tours and experiences while ensuring data integrity and fundraising

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in nonprofit management, communications or business administration.
• Minimum seven years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising, including cultivation and major gifts.
• Experience managing membership programs, board interactions, and donor stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Develop the overall fundraising strategy and annual revenue goals in alignment with the org's strategic plan.
• Manage the Development Committee and report revenue progress to the Board.
• Represent the Development department to the Board and collaborate on growth strategies.
• Oversee major gifts, donor cultivation, solicitations and stewardship activities.
• Plan and execute garden-study tours and donor experiences for high-level donors.
• Ensure fundraising events are aligned with cultivation and stewardship goals.
• Maintain data integrity and fundraising records in the constituent database.
