Apex Service Partners is seeking a hands-on Payroll Manager to lead a national payroll function serving 46 states and 12,000+ teammates. You will manage a team of payroll specialists, ensure accuracy, maintain policies, and drive process improvements in a high-growth, acquisition-heavy environment.

The role emphasizes compliance, system integration with ADP Workforce Now and ServiceTitan, and continuous improvement across payroll workflows to support rapid expansion and data integrity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll operations in a multi-site, high-volume environment.
• Experience supporting or integrating payroll processes within M&A environments.
• Strong knowledge of FLSA, overtime rules, and exemption details.
• Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now.
• Ability to document processes, write policies, and develop forms.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop the payroll team; oversee mail processing, garnishments, and payroll tax notices.
• Document payroll processes; create procedures, policies, forms, and checklists.
• Build variance and exception reports to support internal controls.
• Maintain scalable internal control practices across payroll workflows.
• Support payroll integration activities for a high-growth organization.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll issues and data accuracy.
• Collaborate on long-term payroll system strategy and ADP Workforce Now integrations.
• Identify and implement improvements to payroll accuracy and teammate experience.
