Qualifications

  • 2+ years in operations management or equivalent leadership roles.
  • Experience with P&L responsibilities and budgeting.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support shows.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate internally and with venues and clients to plan and manage install and dismantle activities.
  • Participate in show planning and other operational activities to ensure successful execution; manage labor and job assignments to align with preshow estimates.
  • Maintain understanding of venue operations, union requirements, and competitive rates and conditions.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team; provide annual reviews and growth opportunities for staff.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and manage labor risk while protecting gross margin.
  • Negotiate contracts for office/warehouse facilities and leasing as needed.
  • Act as liaison to clients and sales team to optimize resource use.
  • Travel to show sites to support successful execution.

This person will be a reliable leader and knowledgeable business partner and demonstrates confidence and effectiveness in taking ownership of critical relationships and business goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborate internally and with venues and clients to plan and manage install and dismantle activities
  • Participate in show planning and other operational activities to ensure successful execution of job requirements; manage labor and job assignments to ensure alignment with preshow estimates
  • Maintain a broad understanding of venue and show site operations, union requirements, and competitor rates, strengths, weaknesses, skills, and abilities

P&L management and reporting for city operations; ensure budgeted profitability goals are met

  • Attend client planning meetings as needed and assist with site surveys
  • Maintain productive working relationship with local unions and union leadership; assist with contract negotiations, grievances, labor agreement adherence and interpretation
  • Lead and develop a highperforming team; provide annual reviews and avenues of growth for office staff
  • Identify and develop relationships with local businesses and community organizations to identify key resources and a strong pipeline of talent
  • Act as a liaison to clients and sales team members to ensure efficient use of available resources
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols on all job sites; Manage workers' compensation risk and maintain gross margin
  • Determine space requirements in relation to staff, storage, and revenues; negotiate all contracts for office and warehouse facilities, including lease contracts for building and vehicles
  • Assume responsibility for all financial transactions and reconciliations involving local company checking accounts; maintain communication with corporate Accounts Payable
  • Service satellite cities in a profitable manner; research and establish labor resources
  • Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
  • 2+ years of job experience in operations management roles with business planning and execution experience; P&L responsible roles preferred.
  • 2+ years labor management or trade show industry experience preferred
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities requiring attention to detail while ensuring high quality service delivery
  • Expert time management and organizational skills with ability to handle large or complex projects simultaneously
  • Capable of working independently; selfmotivated and results driven
  • Able to analyze complex problems, exercise sound judgment, and appropriately manage conflict
  • Ability to analyze and apply data to business strategy and goals; financial acumen is a must
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to charismatically manage crossfunctional relationships within the organization; strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work long hours and travel as needed.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • BiLingual is preferred, but not required.
