Job summary

The National Forest Foundation (NFF) seeks a National Nursery System Program Specialist to remotely supervise a team of NFF Nursery System Technicians across multiple sites, ensuring operational excellence and staff development. You will manage contracts, procurement, and partnerships to enhance seed production and nursery facilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred in forestry, ecology, natural resource management, horticulture, or related field.
• Minimum five years of nursery/seed operations and project planning experience.
• Experience supervising remote-based staff and managing contracts and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote supervision of NFF Nursery System Technicians across multiple sites.
• Oversee contracting, procurement, and supplier management for nursery operations.
• Coordinate with US Forest Service staff and nursery managers on projects and modernization.
• Develop volunteer programs and partnerships to support nursery system facilities.
• Manage program budgets and reporting from federal, state, and philanthropic sources.
• Represent NFF in external partnerships and maintain stakeholder relations.
