Job summary

Life.Church is seeking a Media Relations Manager in Edmond, OK to tell stories of how God is working through our ministry. You will develop proactive and reactive press strategies, craft thoughtful messaging, and coordinate across departments to share impactful news with journalists.

You’ll lead media relations efforts, build journalist rapports, curate press assets, and monitor coverage to refine future campaigns. A Bachelor’s in PR/Strategic Comm and 5+ years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication to foster relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Strategic Communication, or related field.
• 5+ years of related work experience with demonstrated media relations success.

Responsibilities

• Contribute strategy ideas for Life.Church press initiatives.
• Counsel staff for speaking engagements, research projects, or community requests.
• Craft messaging on sensitive topics across audiences and channels.
• Regularly evaluate projects and improve future efforts.
• Draft and distribute press materials for journalists.
• Coordinate press logistics across teams for PR campaigns.
• Manage and respond to media inquiries strategically.
• Stay informed of local, national and trade news to identify pitch angles.
• Build and maintain rapport with journalists.
• Build and maintain media lists and press assets.
• Curate visual assets for press use.
• Monitor media coverage and respond accordingly.
• Develop biographies and Life.Church historical documents for external use.
