Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Associate degree + 4 years experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's.
• High school diploma + 6 years experience may be considered in lieu of bachelor's.
• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
• If required by contract, bilingual English/Spanish.
• Be able to obtain a favorable Tier 2 investigation.
• Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI).
• Must have AFC, CFP, or ChFC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
• Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
• Develop and make available informational financial materials to service members and families.
• Coordinate, publicize and provide a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars.
• Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication (web-based, secure online chat, or video-based communications).
• Manage duty to warn situations according to DoD protocol.
• Communicate with leadership and participate in supervision; share trends and issues.
• Participate in regular trainings, quality improvement activities, and other contract duties as assigned.
• All other duties as assigned.
