Job summary

Magellan Health is seeking a Personal Financial Counselor at National Guard facilities in Latham, NY. You will provide comprehensive financial counseling to service members and their families, including budgeting and debt management, and coordinate DoD-aligned classes across installations.

Qualifications include 3+ years in financial counseling, a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience), and AFC/CFP/ChFC certifications. U.S.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of financial counseling experience.
• Bachelor's degree required, or a combination of education and work experience considered.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English. Bilingual in English and Spanish may be required.
• Must be able to obtain a Tier 2 investigation and pass the Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI).
• One of AFC, CFP, or ChFC certifications is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families.
• Assist with spending plans for extended absences and develop financial educational materials.
• Coordinate and promote Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the installation.
• Collaborate with DoD and installation POC to ensure program scope and compliance.
• Respond to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars and utilize virtual counseling modes as needed.
