Job summary

The National Float Pilot role at Air Evac Lifeteam supports coverage of open shifts across bases and helps start-up and standardization of new bases, ensuring operations with appropriate regulatory compliance. They oversee aircraft operations in line with FAA Part 135 and the Air Evac Operations Manual, prioritizing safety and efficiency.

• 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours.
• 100 hours night unaided, or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours aided.

Responsibilities

• Creates pilot information guide with location, frequencies, procedures.
• Conducts local area orientation as required.
• Informs Regional Director of flight planning information when not up-to-date.
• Operates aircraft safely and efficiently per Rotorcraft Flight Manual.
• Monitors forecast and weather conditions.
• Performs preflight checks and logs discrepancies for maintenance.

Pilot Incentives

Salary range $102,073 - $107,399 including 15% Geo Modifier

$12K Annual stipend

$15K Sign on Bonus, subject to eligibility

Retention Bonus plans ($40,000 after 3 years plus additional retention bonuses once completed)

On Duty Housing

Travel and per diem paid for all shifts

Hourly position (any hours over 40 in a pay week is overtime)

Schedule 14-on/14-off

JOB SUMMARY

The National Float Pilot assists with coverage of open shifts as needed at assigned bases and provides assistance with the start-up and standardization of new bases. They are responsible for all operations involving company aircraft is in compliance with the Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 135, Air Evac EMS Operations Manual and all state or municipal regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Creates pilot information guide to include location, frequencies, and procedures to be used, when flying into hospitals and other EMS agencies.
• Conducts local area orientation as required.
• Informs the Regional Director of Flight Operations anytime the necessary information for flight planning is not available or up-to date.
• Operates the aircraft in a safe and efficient manner, with emphasis on compliance with the Rotorcraft Flight Manual
• Monitors forecast changes and current weather situations
• Conducts preflight of the aircraft prior to starting shift and/or accepting any transports or flights. Preflight will be conducted utilizing the appropriate rotorcraft flight manual. Discrepancies noted during the pre-flight will be noted in the engineering log with a notification to maintenance of the discrepancy and what corrective action is being taken
• Reports any major malfunctions, aircraft damage, or injured personnel to Operations Center in the most expeditious manner
• Ensures that all operations involving Company aircraft are in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations, the Air Evac Operations Manual, and any state or municipal regulation; thus ensuring safe, efficient transport
• Performs any housekeeping duties required to make the crew quarters and hanger area neat, clean, and presentable along with nurse, paramedic.
• Wash, wax, and clean aircraft, as needed, along with nurse, paramedic and maintenance personnel.
• Submits all appropriate paperwork in a neat and timely manner
• Performs other duties as assigned

MinimumRequirements

• Current Rotorcraft FAA Commercial Certificate
• Helicopter instrument rating
• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate
• 2,000 Total Flight Hours
• 1,500 Helicopter Hours
• 1,000 Helicopter PIC Hours
• 500 Turbine Helicopter Hours
• 100 hours night unaided, or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours aided
• 230 pound weight limit with flight gear
• 1 year experience with any GMR Air company – preferred

• B206 Aircraft Experience
• High School Diploma/Equivalent or Higher
