Job summary

USTA seeks a Senior Manager to lead the National Excellence Program, guiding strategy to scale impact and align with the Young Person Pathway. You will oversee regional events, activations, and grant administration to support high-potential student-athletes.

The role requires strong program leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and data-driven evaluation, with hybrid work in Los Angeles, CA. NCAA familiarity and tennis development knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

  • BA college degree and/or relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of program management experience, preferably in youth development, sports, or nonprofit sectors.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects from start to finish.
  • Familiarity with the college athlete recruitment process and NCAA rules.
  • Preferred high-level junior, collegiate, or professional tennis playing and/or coaching experience.
  • Understanding of the junior tennis pathway, tournament structure, and development ecosystem; prior coaching or player identification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the National Excellence Program aligned with organizational goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive project plans for workflows, timelines, and progress.
  • Oversee regional events and community combines from start to finish, including RFP development and event delivery.
  • Drive standardized event models for consistency and excellence across activations.
  • Oversee talent identification efforts and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage the Individual Player Grant program from application through compliance monitoring.
