Job summary

Rentex in Chicago, IL is seeking a National Product Manager (Audio) to own the audio roadmap, set QC and packaging standards, and lead the Audio Product Coordinators who help make it happen every day. You will work with Sales, Marketing, Operations and leadership to decide gear selections and drive inventory readiness for shows.

You will collaborate with leadership to build business cases, manage vendors, and ensure smooth repair and deployment cycles across national events.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years in live events/equipment rental focusing on professional audio.
• Experience making purchasing and vendor decisions and setting technical standards.
• Advanced troubleshooting across live sound, DSP, Dante, RF coordination, and loudspeakers.
• Experience managing repair workflows including parts allocation and RMAs.
• Strong project management, communication, and documentation skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the audio roadmap, identify gear, and set QC and packaging standards.
• Build business cases (TCO, utilization) and present recommendations.
• Manage purchases, inventory readiness, and integration plans for new gear.
• Source vendors, negotiate, and manage RMAs and service partners.
• Set warranty expectations with vendors and internal teams.
• Lead the Audio Product Coordinator team and develop training.
• Be the audio SME for Sales and Operations and support after-hours.
