Job summary

Rentex Audio Visual & Computer Rentals is seeking a National Product Manager (Audio) to own the audio roadmap, drive category strategy, and lead the Audio Product Coordinator team. You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and leadership to set standards for QC, packing, and repairs, ensuring gear readiness for national events.

You will guide capital planning, vendor negotiations, and cross-functional implementation while maintaining high service levels and accurate product

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in live events/equipment rental with focus on professional audio.
• Experience making purchasing/vendor decisions and setting technical standards.
• Advanced troubleshooting across live sound: digital consoles, DSP, networked audio (Dante), wireless RF coordination, intercom, and loudspeakers.
• Experience managing repair workflows, including parts allocation, RMAs, and return-to-service.
• Strong project management, communication, and written documentation skills.
• Comfortable with inventory/repair systems and Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Own the audio roadmap: identify, evaluate, and select consoles, DSP, loudspeaker systems, wireless/RF, intercom, playback, networking, cabling, and accessories.
• Build business case (TCO, utilization, market trends) and present recommendations for capital planning.
• Manage purchases and guide Purchasing, Inventory, and Operations on timelines and integration plans for new gear.
• Source new vendors, negotiate with vendors, and manage service partner and RMA relationships.
• Set expectations for warranty and post-warranty repairs with vendors and internal teams.
• Own the national damaged equipment pipeline and prioritize order requirements.
• Own QC standards and packaging/handling standards for every Audio SKU.
• Keep advanced spares and plans for high-risk SKUs; manage firmware baselines and obsolescence.
• Onboard new inventory (asset IDs, kits, barcodes, photos, docs) before first show.
• Lead the Audio Product Coordinator team and train branch QC managers, leads, and technicians.
