Job summary

Rentex in Chicago is seeking a National Product Manager - Audio to own the audio roadmap, QC standards, and inventory readiness, leading the Audio Product Coordinators who support Sales, Operations, and leadership. You will set standards for repairs, packaging, and onboarding new gear, coordinate with vendors, and drive capital planning and vendor negotiations to keep gear in service.

This role reports to the Director of Innovation and Growth and offers a path toward Sr.

Qualifications

5–7+ years in live events/equipment rental focusing on professional audio.
Experience making purchasing/vendor decisions and setting technical standards.
Advanced troubleshooting across live sound: consoles, DSP, Dante, RF coordination.
Experience managing repair workflows, parts allocation, RMAs.
Strong PM, communication, and documentation skills.
Comfortable with inventory/repair systems such as Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

Own the audio roadmap and select consoles, DSP, loudspeaker systems, and accessories.
Build business cases and present capital planning recommendations.
Manage purchases, guide Purchasing, Inventory, and Operations on timelines.
Source vendors, negotiate, and manage RMAs to avoid bottlenecks.
Set warranty expectations and repair priorities with vendors.
Own the national damaged equipment pipeline and fast returns.
Maintain QC standards and packaging for every Audio SKU.
Onboard new inventory with assets, kits, barcodes, and documentation.
