Job summary

The Department of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (DNSE) at the University at Albany seeks an Academic Laboratory Support Technician to maintain the instructional infrastructure for semiconductor fabrication and nanotechnology labs. You will support operation, maintenance, repair and safe use of advanced equipment in the DNSE Innovation Lab and other teaching labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 3–5 years of cleanroom/semiconductor experience.
• Experience maintaining and operating laboratory and nanofabrication equipment.
• Ability to train students and staff on equipment operation and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and provide technical support for DNSE equipment and cleanroom tools.
• Coordinate installation and commissioning of new laboratory equipment.
• Develop and enforce safety procedures for hazardous materials and waste.
• Provide training and technical guidance to students and faculty in DNSE labs.
• Manage equipment inventories, maintenance schedules, and asset lifecycle.
