Job summary

Texas A&M Engineering in College Station is seeking a Research Engineer II to manage nanofabrication tools and develop processes in AggieFab, the university's core cleanroom facility.

The role covers operation, optimization of lithography, deposition, etching, metrology, and analysis tools, plus collaboration with TAMU investigators and external customers on MEMS and BioMEMS projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or science with relevant laboratory experience.
• Minimum 2 years of related nanofabrication experience.

Responsibilities

• Developing suitable recipes to achieve optimum results from the process tools for various AggieFab customer research projects.
• Executing staff runs for academic and industrial customers and preparing detailed reports.
• Establishing standard operating and training procedures.
• Maintaining stable operation of tools under his/her purview by performing periodic control runs and obtaining inputs from the user base.
• Training users in the operation of tools.
• Working with tool vendors in developing tool operations and performance enhancements.
• Establishing preventative maintenance programs and/or working with tool manufacturers to troubleshoot problems and achieve a high up-time for the user base.
