Job summary

AtlasBase in South San Francisco is seeking a Research Associate, Technology Development to characterize nanoelectronic devices through metrology techniques across lifecycle stages. The role requires a strong background in physics/materials science, hands-on metrology experience, and excellent communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology or a related field with 0–3 years of experience.
• Experience with advanced metrology techniques such as AFM, SEM, TEM, XPS, FTIR, or TOF-SIMs.
• Understanding of electron transport physics and electrochemistry, ideally at nanoelectrodes.
• Data analysis and scripting experience is desirable.
• Experience in semiconductor or biotechnology is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; creative and detail-oriented.
• Strong collaboration skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Characterize nanoelectronic devices using metrology techniques across lifecycle stages.
• Coordinate with outside vendors, collaborators, and fabrication partners for device characterization.
• Prepare reports on pristine nanoelectronic devices as part of QC processes.
• Summarize experiments to provide feedback for test and learning cycles.
• Understand device requirements and propose characterization methods.
• Maintain detailed records of all experimental work and analysis.
• Communicate results and next steps with chip fabrication, device measurements, surface chemistry teams.
