Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a City Research Scientist to support the Overdose Prevention Unit by coordinating naloxone data submission and analysis. The role focuses on data quality, dashboard development, and collaboration with multiple program staff across NYC.

The candidate will use Access, R, and SQL-based tools to manage data, generate reports, and support program evaluation, while advancing health equity and harm reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree with relevant public health focus.
• Experience in epidemiology, data management, or biostatistics preferred.
• Ability to translate data into actionable public health insights.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to gather and analyze naloxone data across NYC.
• Use Access and/or R to clean and maintain naloxone data.
• Generate PowerBI dashboards to support program evaluation.
• Solicit monthly reports from OOPPs and provide technical assistance as needed.
• Train OOPPs on data submission and data workflows.
