Interstate Batteries seeks a Route Sales professional to service and expand an assigned set of National Account dealers along a predefined route. Responsibilities include selling batteries, rotating stock, maintaining displays, and documenting activities to sustain strong dealer relationships.

Applicants should have a clean driving record, 2+ years in sales/delivery, and strong communication and customer service skills. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Purpose Of Job

Job Components

• Sell new batteries to National Account dealers
• Rotate batteries and collect cores
• Maintain the route by keeping displays clean and keeping dealer list up to date
• Service each National Account dealer
• Establish, build and maintain good dealer relationships
• Complete documentation on a timely basis
• Collect and return junk and/or used batteries to Distributorship.

Qualifications

• Must have clean driving record.
• Prior sales experience highly desirable
• Good communication skills
• Strong customer service skills.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Current, valid state driver’s license
• Ability to read, write and compute basic math.
• Minimum 2 years demonstrated sales, customer service and delivery experience

Work Environment

• Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to lift and/or move 50+ lbs.
• Exposed to battery warehouse conditions such as exposure to moving equipment mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals.
