Job summary

Tempur Sealy is seeking an experienced procurement leader to drive NA Chemicals category sourcing strategy and supplier relationships. You will lead contract negotiations, manage cross-functional collaboration, and optimize cost, quality, and supply for polyurethane-related materials.

The role requires 10+ years in procurement/supply chain, strong negotiation and analytics, and leadership of a high-performance team across North America.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of polyurethanes and NA market.
• Knowledge of polyurethane foam processing and input material supply chains for Isocyanates and Polyols.
• Proven ability to work with regional and global suppliers in a Sourcing, Procurement, or related supply chain role.
• Advanced negotiation skills.
• Ability to drive timely and favorable dispute resolution.
• Ability to adapt and manage effectively in fast-paced and changing environment.
• Self-starter with planning, assessing, and implementing change.
• Solid interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Highly effective communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Experience managing/leading people.
• BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the polyurethanes and/or petrochemicals field.
• 10+ years of category/supplier management experience or similar.
• 3+ years of managing professionals.
• Cumulative experience of 10+ years Procurement, Engineering, or Supply Chain fields.
• Global travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of sourcing strategies for the North America Chemicals category.
• Drive value generation through cost savings initiatives and continuity of supply.
• Serve as interface to the supply base and manage supplier issues.
• Act as marketplace expert for NA commodity costs, performance, tech shifts, and trends.
• Report to Director of Global Sourcing - NA Raw Materials and support Global Category Leader.
• Manage chemicals purchases related to polyurethane foam production across multiple NA sites.
• Lead NA chemicals team including a category specialist and program manager.
• Develop and implement NA Chemicals Category sourcing strategy aligned with global goals.
• Lead contract and pricing negotiations covering terms, lead times, inventory, freight, payment terms, technology, delivery, disaster recovery.
• Manage sourcing professionals and allocate work by priorities.
• Own major supplier relationships and enforce contract terms.
• Manage supplier balanced scorecards and conduct reviews.
• Implement, administer, and report supplier initiatives.
• Interface with senior-level supplier and company executives.
• Ensure compliance with global purchasing programs.
• Manage category specifications, raw materials, and finishing applications.
• Secure material technology for exclusive Tempur Sealy use and competitive advantage.
• Develop total cost models and analyze base raw materials spend.
• Initiate alternative sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with Product Development, Marketing, Operations, Manufacturing, Planning, Engineering, Advanced Tech, Finance, Logistics.",
• Coordinate supplier certification, approval, and compliance with Supplier Quality Engineer.
• Negotiate contracts to achieve lowest system costs while maintaining quality and service.
• Improve plant inventory levels, order accuracy, and lead-time alignment.
• Reduce excess/obsolete materials and consolidate raw material spend.
• Optimize supply-chain efficiencies using plant sourcing and manufacturing input.
• Participate in cross-functional events and develop best practices for new materials and product lines.
• Manage assigned supplier liaisons or contract employees.
• Provide manufacturing and planning feedback on supplier capacities.
• Represent Tempur Sealy at industry conferences and evaluate market intelligence.
• Prepare RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, price analyses, supplier communication summaries, and filing systems.
• Enter and maintain electronic system data accurately.
• Coordinate contracting with TSI Legal and manage contract extensions or amendments.
• Resolve supply and quality issues involving pricing, expediting, scheduling, discrepancies, and internal communications.
• Manage category data, vendor master records, SKUs, and part numbers.
• Disseminate pricing, SKU, availability, and packaging information to plants and management.
