Job summary

Barbaricum is seeking a highly experienced Computer Engineer IV (UI/UX SME) to support Software & Cyber Engineering for Maneuver, Surveillance, & Engagement Systems at NSWC Crane. This role will lead the design and delivery of cloud-enabled AI/ML UI/UX solutions for warfighter operations, with remote work and occasional on-site visits to Crane, IN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in UX Design and software development.
• Expertise in developing, deploying, and securing applications within mission-critical or defense environments.
• Data science, dashboard development, interface design, system/data architecture; experience with the Qlik tool is a plus, but not required.
• Demonstrated experience with LLMs, MLOps pipelines, and modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Strong background in software and cyber engineering principles, including system hardening, secure coding, and vulnerability mitigation.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical efforts, mentor junior engineers, and interface with government stakeholders.
• DoD 8570 Advanced certification (e.g., SecurityX, GCSA, CCSP, or equivalent) must be obtained and maintained.
