Job summary

BMCHS in Boston is seeking an Engagement Specialist to support the Multi Visit Patient Program in the ED. You will engage identified MVPP patients during overnight/evening shifts, build rapport, and help set goals with the MVPP team.

The role requires non-judgmental, patient-centered care for individuals affected by homelessness, substance use, and mental illness. Part-time evenings with collaboration across ED staff are involved.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; degrees in social work or related field preferred.
• Two years in social services or healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with vulnerable populations and homelessness valued.

Responsibilities

• Engage MVPP patients in the ED using tracking tools and rounds.
• Build rapport and identify patient goals in collaboration with MVPP team.
• Document encounters in EPIC with timely notes.
• Coordinate with overnight ED staff to support MVPP patients.
