MVP BADMINTON INSTRUCTOR

FACILITY: Eola Community Center


LOCATION: Aurora, IL


HOURS: Monday-Friday 4:00-8:00pm, Saturday/Sunday 8:00am-1:00pm; shift times do vary


RATE: $16 - $20/hour DOQ

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age or older and possess high school diploma or GED with a strong interest in sports and at least three years playing at a competitive level. Prefer candidates to have prior experience working with children and/or an interest in education or recreation as a possible career goal. Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential. Must have attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task with a capability to perform in high-energy environment. Must have CPR/First Aid Certification or obtain through the Park District within 3 months of hire. Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.


DUTIES

Under the direction and supervision of the Athletics Supervisor, the MVP Badminton Instructors primary responsibility is to lead recreational badminton classes focused on teaching fundamental skills and fostering a love for the game. This position will plan and deliver engaging weekly lessons that cover proper grip, racket control, footwork, serves, and key shots such as clears, drops, smashes, and net play. The instructor will teach participants the rules, scoring, and strategies of badminton through interactive drills and rally-based activities, ensuring that each session includes appropriate warm-ups, stretching, and cool-downs. The goal is to provide a structured, supportive, and fun environment that promotes individual progress, confidence, coordination, and sportsmanship for participants of varying ages and abilities. This is an at-will position.
