Job summary

Premier Health Partners’ Miami Valley Hospital is seeking a PRN Pharmacy Technician to assist in the preparation, distribution and documentation of medication orders under supervision.

Responsibilities include reading physician orders, supporting dispensing processes and maintaining accurate records within the pharmacy department. Strong teamwork, English literacy and basic computer skills are essential to perform daily tasks and support patient care.

Qualifications

• Status: PRN / Support role in Pharmacy.
• Minimum education: High School completion / GED.
• Must be enrolled in a College of Pharmacy, with emphasis in Pharmacy.
• Licensed Pharmacy Intern.

General Summary/Responsibilities

Status: PRN / Support

Department: Pharmacy

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, Coordinator, Team Leaders, and Pharmacists and according to standard procedures, upon receiving physician orders, assists in the preparation, distribution, and documentation of medication processes within the health care system.

507-Certified Pharmacy Technician HS-High School Diploma

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

• Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software
• Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
