Job summary

Robbinsdale Armstrong High School is seeking a Vocal Music Director to oversee all vocal aspects of a musical production.

The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in music with at least three years of musical theatre experience; a teaching degree is preferred but not required. Strong communication with adults and students is essential, and a background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the Artistic Director on interpretation/vision of the production.

• Runs music auditions.
• Assists Artistic Director and Choreographer with casting the show.
• Teaches cast and chorus all vocal selections.
• Communicates vocal needs to the Choreographer.
• Selects music for auditions.
• Submits vocal rehearsal schedule to Artistic Director for master schedule.
• Communicates tempos and other musical needs to the Orchestra Conductor.
• Attends all run throughs and dress rehearsals.
• Creates a microphone plot.
• Coordinates with the Sound Engineer for microphone checks.
