Salt Lake Behavioral Health is a private 118-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and substance abuse treatment for adolescents and adults. We serve the Salt Lake City area using evidence-based treatments in a comfortable, confidential atmosphere. We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual diagnosis, we treat patients in the best way possible given their specific case.

The Music Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic and evidence-based Music Therapy services to meet the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and cultural needs of patients. This role requires a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC). The therapist will define and implement treatment goals as part of an interdisciplinary team, support patients' mental health journeys, build strong therapeutic alliances through empathetic care, and conduct assessments, facilitate group interventions, document progress, and assist with discharge planning.
