Education:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
Certification:Active credentials as a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) or equivalent certification (ACMT, CMT, or RMT).
Additional Requirements:Current CPR certification is required.
Language Proficiency:Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
As a school-basedMusic Therapist, you’ll bring the power of music to education, helping students overcome barriers and unlock their potential. Your key responsibilities will include:
Conduct Evaluations:Conduct evaluations to determine the need for specialized therapy services.
Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents and district personnel, providing clear and compassionate insights.
Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the ARD committee to create targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that enhance student performance, participation, and access to education.
Provide Therapy: Plan and deliver music therapy services in alignment with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Monitor Progress: Collect data and maintain accurate, detailed records of student progress to ensure interventions are effective.
Support Teams: Participate in ARD meetings, parent conferences, and other relevant discussions to advocate for and enhance special education programs.
