The role includes developing treatment plans in collaboration with school administrators and treatment teams, and contributing to interdisciplinary planning. Eligible candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program, with a Master’s degree preferred and proof of licensure (LPMT in Illinois) within one

Qualifications

• Strengths-based theoretical framework.
• Strong clinical musicianship and strengths-based approach.
• Ability to work independently at multiple agency sites.
• Effective communication with professionals, students and families.
• Strong art-based assessment skills (Expressive Therapy Continuum, IMCAP, J. Loewy).
• Licensed/regulated practice: Music Therapist licensure in Illinois within 1 week of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess and deliver services to student Artists across multiple campuses.
• Provide individual, small group and community music therapy.
• Develop creative arts therapy treatment plans.
• Document in student files per regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with the treatment team and participate in interdisciplinary planning.
• Provide in-services to team members and engage in supervision.
• Maintain licensure according to state and federal regulations.
