Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is seeking a compassionate Music Therapist for its Eau Claire, WI location. This full-time role involves providing music therapy to patients as part of end-of-life care, following a defined plan of care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Facilities offer benefits and schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The position requires completion of the specified certifications and ability to pass background checks and drug testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in music therapy from an accredited program.
• Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) or MT-BT or equivalent registry/association certification.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report, and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Provide music therapy per plan of care; assess patients and determine effectiveness.
• Implement interventions to relieve symptoms and support emotional, physical, and spiritual comfort.
• Use techniques such as relaxation, lyric analysis, songwriting, and life review; document sessions promptly.
• Educate team, maintain HIPAA compliance, and participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality improvement.

Qualifications

Music Therapist Requirements & Core Responsibilities:

• Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with bachelor’s degree in music therapy.
• One of the following:
  1. Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BT)
  2. National Music Therapy Registry
  3. American Music Therapy Association
  4. Or another national organization that certifies, registers, or accredits Music Therapists.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report, and drug test.
• Provide music therapy per plan of care; assess patients and determine effectiveness.
• Implement interventions to relieve symptoms and support emotional, physical, and spiritual comfort.
• Use techniques such as relaxation, lyric analysis, songwriting, and life review; document sessions promptly.
