Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is seeking a compassionate Music Therapist to provide therapeutic music sessions aligned with each patient’s care plan. You will assess patients regularly and tailor interventions to ease symptoms while supporting emotional and spiritual comfort.

Responsibilities include documenting sessions promptly, educating the care team, and maintaining HIPAA compliance, with active participation in interdisciplinary meetings and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with bachelor's degree in music therapy.
• Certification options include MT-BT, National Registry, or American Music Therapy Association.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report, and drug test.

• Implement interventions to relieve symptoms and support emotional, physical, and spiritual comfort.
• Use techniques such as relaxation, lyric analysis, songwriting, and life review; document sessions promptly.

Qualifications

Music Therapist Requirements & Core Responsibilities:

• Graduate of an accredited music therapy program with bachelor's degree in music therapy.
• One of the following:
  • Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BT)
  • National Music Therapy Registry
  • American Music Therapy Association
  • Or another national organization that certifies, registers, or accredits Music Therapists.
• Ability to pass background, consumer report, and drug test.
• Provide music therapy per plan of care; assess patients and determine effectiveness.
• Implement interventions to relieve symptoms and support emotional, physical, and spiritual comfort.
• Use techniques such as relaxation, lyric analysis, songwriting, and life review; document sessions promptly.
