Education Through Music Inc. in New York, NY is seeking a Music Teacher Intern to support our mission of bringing quality music education to NYC public schools.

You will assist the Music Teacher-Mentor, lead a class, help coordinate concerts, manage classroom routines, and track student progress using ETM benchmarks. Required: Bachelor's Degree in Music/Arts or related field and 1 year of teaching or student teaching; ability to model singing; strong musical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Music/Arts or Related Field.
• 1 year of teaching experience or student teaching experience.
• Advanced musical notation and theory literacy.

Responsibilities

• Lead a class assigned by the Music Teacher-Mentor and assist with school-wide concerts.
• Assist with managing student behavior to maintain an optimal learning environment.
• Record student progress toward learning goals using ETM benchmarks.
• Create and maintain an engaging bulletin board and a print-rich music classroom.
• Provide support for classroom routines and ETM-related materials.
• Participate in ETM professional development sessions.
