Job summary

Leadership Prep Academy in the United States is seeking a dedicated Music Teacher to implement high academic expectations and deliver engaging lessons for diverse learners. The ideal candidate will collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with students, families, and district staff.

Responsibilities include planning for in-person and virtual instruction, assessing progress, managing behavior, and participating in professional development and conferences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field is required.
• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field is required.
• Special education teachers who issue grades must hold appropriate certification in service and ensure alignment with the teaching certificate.
• Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved subject-specific endorsements required.
• CTAE – Minimum education requirements based on CTAE specializations.
• Must pass the GACE Education Ethics Assessment.
• Minimum two (2) years of verifiable industrial work experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach grade-relevant, subject matter-specific, and mandated curriculum.
• Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through in-person and virtual learning with written prep evidence.
• Communicate with district personnel, students, and parents by phone, email, or video conferencing.
• Create an in-person and virtual classroom conducive to learning and development.
• Use internet and web-based technology to provide instruction and collaboration.
• Assess, document, and report achievement progress, grades, and attendance.
• Supervise and manage student behavior per the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
• Participate in student development conferences with parents and staff as required.
• Attend meetings and professional learning sessions.
• Direct the work of paraprofessional or instructional aide as needed.
• Maintain prompt and regular work attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
