The Role
As aMusic Teacher, whether you're an ECT or have prior teaching experience, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering engagingMusic Teacherlessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, helping students build both practical and theoretical music skills.
Developing a creative and diverse curriculum that includes music theory, performance, composition, and history to inspire students of varying abilities.
Guiding individual and group performances, helping students refine their skills in both vocal and instrumental music.
Collaborating with the music department to ensure the curriculum is accessible and effective, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Providing constructive feedback to track student progress and help them excel in both theoretical and practical aspects of music.
Supporting extracurricular activities such as concerts, school music clubs, and ensembles, offering students the chance to showcase their musical talents.
For experienced teachers, taking on leadership responsibilities such as mentoring colleagues or contributing to the strategic planning of the department.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for aMusic Teacherwho is passionate about the subject and dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. Whether you are anEarly Career Teacher (ECT)or an experienced educator, you should possess:
️Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)and a degree in Music or a related field.
️ ForECTs: A commitment to developing professionally with the support of experienced staff.
️ ForExperienced Teachers: Proven experience teachingmusicat Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with a record of achieving strong student outcomes.
️ Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, composition, and history.
️ The ability to engage and inspire students in both practical and theoretical music tasks.
️ A creative approach to lesson planning that makes music enjoyable and challenging for all students.
️ Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
️ A willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities that foster a love for music outside the classroom.
️ ForExperienced Teachers: Leadership or mentoring experience within the department is desirable.
