Position Summary: St. Mary’s Catholic School in Greenville, SC is looking for a music teacher to join their school community for the 2025-2026 school year. Historic St. Mary’s is a thriving Catholic School Community in beautiful downtown Greenville. It is a two-time National Blue Ribbon School with a 125-year history of academic excellence and currently serves 316 students in grades K3 through 8. St Mary’s is served by both the Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia as well as a team of experienced, dedicated lay teachers, and offers a wonderful work environment and a welcoming, familial atmosphere.
The ideal candidate would be a practicing Catholic, highly experienced with teaching music to students of all ages, comfortable directing and organizing student instrumentalists (beginners and intermediate), able to plan and execute school-wide music programs (Christmas and Grandparents’ Day), and willing to perform music for certain school events and activities. Strong organization skills, excellent classroom management, high expectations for student achievement, and a passion for education are preferred. Compensation is highly competitive and scales with experience and education.
The music teacher is responsible for weekly classes with grades K3 through 8, plus coordinating our Christmas Program, Grandparents Day program, and working with our band and orchestra students.
