Job summary

Metropolitan Community College is seeking enthusiastic Music Instructors to offer engaging non-credit courses for community members. The role involves developing and delivering a range of music classes, from instrumental and vocal instruction to music theory and appreciation, for learners of all ages and skill levels.

Instructors will create hands-on, accessible experiences and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment that encourages exploration, confidence, and personal enrichment

Qualifications

• Experience teaching music in classroom, private lesson, workshop, or community education settings.
• Strong knowledge in vocal/instrumental performance, music theory, composition, songwriting, or music appreciation.
• Proficiency in one or more instruments and/or vocal performance.
• Experience creating engaging, hands-on, accessible learning for varied skill levels.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for explaining musical concepts.
• Experience teaching adult learners and diverse community audiences.
• Formal education, professional training, or demonstrated expertise in music preferred.
• Active involvement in local music community is a plus.
• Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive learning environment.
• Commitment to practical, enjoyable, and engaging educational experiences.
