Job summary

Education Through Music (ETM) is a nonprofit partner with NYC public schools, placing music teachers and programs into curricula. ETM works across all five boroughs with 50 partner schools, reaching over 18,000 students.

The role involves leading school music programs, producing annual concerts, and aligning with DOE eligibility requirements for teachers. The position requires a Bachelor's in Music/Arts, 1–3 years of teaching groups, and strong pedagogy.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years teaching groups of up to 30 children
• Demonstrated ability to model quality singing for children
• Strong musical knowledge and pedagogy practices
• Comfort with stairs and lifting up to 15 lbs
• Willingness to undergo fingerprinting/background check

Responsibilities

• Serve as school music faculty
• Coordinate and develop in-school music program with staff
• Produce two school-wide concerts annually
• Attend and assist in assemblies, graduations, and after-school activities
• Plan lessons with comprehensive sequencing
• Reflect and improve existing processes
