Job summary

Munson Williams Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, NY seeks a Full-Time Visitor Experience Associate to welcome visitors, sell admissions and memberships, and assist with the public spaces and operations of the Museum of Art.

The role requires flexibility for day, weekend, and evening hours, with a 37.5 hour workweek and a half-hour unpaid lunch. Prior customer service and POS experience are preferred to ensure accurate transactions and excellent guest service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Two years of customer service, retail, reception, administrative support, or related experience required.
• Flexibility to work regularly scheduled evening and weekend hours required.
• Experience with computer systems and databases; experience with POS systems, cash handling, ticketing, and membership software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for visitors, students, members, volunteers, donors, and staff.
• Welcome and assist guests in person, by phone, and through electronic communications.
• Process admissions, memberships, registrations, ticket sales, retail purchases, and other customer transactions accurately.
• Promote programs, events, memberships, and retail offerings through informed interactions.
• Operate point-of-sale, ticketing, membership, and registration systems.
