Job summary

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Museum Store Sales Associate to support customer service, sales, and merchandising in the museum store. The role includes operating the cash register, daily opening/closing procedures, and helping with store displays and promotions.

Assist in training, collaborate with store management, and promote memberships and loyalty programs while providing friendly, knowledgeable service to visitors of all ages.

Qualifications

• Professional retail experience preferred
• Ability to operate a cash register and handle transactions accurately
• Outgoing, courteous, and dependable with strong organizational skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and some evenings
• Interest in museum activities and ability to share knowledge with customers

Responsibilities

• Provide sales and customer service by greeting customers and assisting with product selection
• Handle sales transactions at the cash register and maintain accuracy in daily operations
• Open and close the store following security guidelines and complete daily paperwork
• Assist in training new staff and contribute to merchandising and displays
• Promote museum memberships and inform customers about member benefits and Rex Rewards
