Qualifications

• Education: Completion of a high school degree/GED.
• Work Experience: Minimum of two years of work experience in a retail environment.
• Demonstrated punctuality and dependability.
• Superior customer service and selling skills required.
• Must be a team player and able to work quickly and courteously with customers, colleagues, volunteers, and the public.
• Excellent familiarity with electronic cash registers, computers, computerized inventory systems, manual credit card machines, EMV machines, and telephone systems.
• Strong mathematical skills and aptitude for accurate record-keeping and inventory management.
• Initiative to identify problems and resolve them.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds; capable of standing and walking for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and offer assistance; actively sell and meet sales goals.
• Learn products and provide knowledge and recommendations to enhance the visitor experience.
• Prepare store for opening; manage cash drawers and POS equipment.
• Restock merchandise and maintain visual standards.
• Process purchases and ensure quick, accurate checkout with proper cash handling.
• Close tills and reconcile cash with sales.
• Maintain organized display and clean store environment.
• Assist with special orders, online fulfillment, and packing/shipping as needed.
• Promote museum programs, memberships, and events.
