Job summary

The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore, MD seeks a Monitor Room Supervisor to oversee the 24/7 Monitor Room operations and security staff across day, evening, and night shifts.

You will ensure a safe, welcoming environment for visitors and staff, report hazards, enforce museum policies, and provide back-up coverage as needed. Candidates must hold Maryland Security Guard Certification and have 5+ years in security with 3+ years in supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maryland Security Guard Certification required.
• Minimum five years of security experience; museum setting preferred.
• Minimum three years of supervisory experience.
• Strong customer service and public relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all Monitor Room shifts and staff scheduling.
• Train new officers on camera and alarm systems and museum policies.
• Maintain knowledge of the art collection, building floorplans, and procedures.
• Prepare incident reports and conduct evaluations of direct reports.
• Respond to emergencies and enforce Visitor Promise standards.
