Job summary

Houston Museum of Natural Science is seeking dependable staff for the Protection Services Department. This part-time, non-exempt role involves patrolling galleries, parking facilities, and public spaces to protect artifacts and ensure safety.

You will interact with visitors, provide directions, and act as an initial responder for incidents. Shifts include some evenings and weekends, with up to 28 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong integrity and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly on two-way radio and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Patrol museum grounds, galleries, and public spaces to protect artifacts and people.
• Provide directions and information to visitors in a courteous, professional manner.
• Respond to emergencies and report incidents promptly.
• Assist in opening/closing duties and daily artifact inventory checks.
