Job summary

Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT seeks a Learning Coordinator to concept, manage, and deliver high-impact educational and community programming. The role bridges structured learning with broad public engagement and may tailor duties to the selected candidate’s strengths. Start date projected for early October 2026.

The position requires leadership, program development, and collaboration with the Marketing team, with regular travel and occasional Saturday work.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in program development, community engagement, or event planning.
• Strong leadership, project management, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally for off-site programs.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct Delivery & Teaching: lead educator for school/group tours, after-school programs, and off-site outreach.
• Program Execution & Logistics: plan, staff, and coordinate educational and public initiatives on- and off-site; manage supplies and budgets.
• Evaluation & Administration: maintain scheduling/records and collect attendance data for grants and impact.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: partner with Marketing for promotions and support organizational goals.
• Scheduling: work one Saturday per month; occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays; local travel.
